Scottish guitarist and composer Simon Thacker’s 2019 classical-jazz album, Tàradh, was a highly successful fusion of those musical genres, appreciated by fans of both genres. Since then he has continued to explore various forms, perhaps especially from a foundation of Western Classical and Indian Classical and Folk.

As part of the Made In Scotland showcase, this August he has a new project, in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. For the first time, with three gifted dancers from Priya Varunesh Kumar‘s ‘Piah Dance Company’, he will present a 50 minute show, Tandava, at theSpace @ Niddry St – Upper Theatre (venue number 9).
This Indian dance company will doubtless show their rich heritage of classical Bharatanatyam training and of Gujarati and Rajasthani folk forms, as they accompany Thacker’s always impressive solo guitar. This should be a beautiful show!
