Yesterday evening (Wednesday 7th July) the winners of the 2021 Scottish Awards for New Music were announced during an online ceremony streamed live from the RSNO Centre, Glasgow. Lots of amazing Scottish musicians were short-listed, such as Luci Holland, Simon Thacker and many more.

Winning the Mark McKergow Award for Innovation in Jazz, Liam Shortall of corto.alto said “Live from 435 was a year-long release series in which I released a new single and live session video

every third Friday for a year. It featured many guests from across the UK and beyond, including Soweto Kinch, Johnny Woodham, Luca Manning and Anoushka Nanguy”.

And Scottish Jazz Space adds their thanks and many rounds of applause to the thousands of Scottish musicians who contribute to the amazing music scene here: you all deserve an award!
