Exciting, new band Celtic Django Project returns to Edinburgh’s The Jazz Bar: “a treat for all fans of Scottish and Irish folk music, gypsy jazz and Django Reinhardt.”

Following their 3-night stint – which sold out! – at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025, and in the run up to their appearance at Glasgow’s Celtic Connections on 28th November (on the same bill as Ali Affleck’s Travelling Janes), the delightful Celtic Django Project are set to return to the Jazz Bar in Edinburgh at 9.15pm on Wednesday 22 October.

Playing their brand of “vibrant Hot Club and modern gypsy jazz, laced with Celtic spirit from the treasure trove of Scotland’s musical heritage”, it is, in effect, Django Reinhardt’s Hot Club jazz meets Scottish folk music. What’s not to like?

The band comprises some of the leading Django Reinhardt style/ gypsy jazz and folk musicians in Scotland. Paul Paterson is recognised as one of UK’s leading gypsy jazz guitarists while Jim Mackay (guitar), John Carnie (guitar) and new member Martin Macleod (fiddle) have been immersed in traditional music at the highest levels for decades. Charlotte Paterson holds the band to together on double bass and is just back from playing at the Django Reinhardt Festival in France.

This show should be a belter!
